Board Member (Research, International Affairs, and Cancer Control) at the National Cancer Center Japan, and Director of EPOC. Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Kanazawa University in 1993, and completed a Ph.D. at Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2000. Leveraging a foundation in translational research, he promotes the social implementation and global expansion of cancer research. Based in Kashiwanoha, Chiba—an area gaining recognition as a hub for life science innovation—he plays a central role in accelerating the practical application of medical technologies through industry–academia–government collaboration.

国立がん研究センター理事（研究・国際・がん対策担当）・先端医療開発センター長。1993年金沢大学医学部卒。2000年東京医科歯科大学大学院修了。トランスレーショナルリサーチを基盤に、がん研究の社会実装と国際展開を推進。ライフサイエンスのイノベーション拠点として注目される千葉県柏の葉において、産学官連携を軸に医療技術の実用化を加速する中核的役割を担う。
