Claudia Philpot is the project manager of the EDEN LUNA project at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Bremen, Germany. The German Aerospace Center is a non-profit organization providing research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security. Before joining the team focusing on bio-regenerative life support systems (BLSS), she gained her expertise in Industry and Research specializing as a satellite operations engineer and served as an assistant delegate for Germany within the ESA programmatic ISS utilization board.
As part of the Planetary Infrastructure Group at DLR she published multiple research papers and has been leading the EDEN LUNA plant cultivation project which is based on the EDEN ISS legacy, operated at the German Neumayer Station III in Antarctica. She plays a central role in combining and maturing highly automated BLSS technology development with space crop research for safe food production for future human space exploration vehicles and planetary outposts in close cooperation between industry and academia.

ドイツ航空宇宙センター（DLR）EDEN LUNA プロジェクトマネジャー

Claudia Philpot氏は、ドイツ・ブレーメンにある航空宇宙・エネルギー・輸送・安全保障分野の研究開発機関であるドイツ航空宇宙センター（DLR）において、生物再生生命支援システム（BLSS：bio-regenerative life support systems）に関するEDEN LUNAプロジェクトのプロジェクトマネジャーを務めています。これまで、産業界および研究機関において衛星運用エンジニアとして経験を積み、ESA（欧州宇宙機関）のISS（国際宇宙ステーション）利用計画委員会のドイツ代表補佐も務めました。
DLRの惑星インフラストラクチャーグループの一員として、複数の研究論文を発表し、南極のドイツ・ノイマイヤーIII基地で運用された EDEN ISS の成果を基盤とする EDEN LUNA 植物栽培プロジェクトを主導しています。また、将来の有人宇宙探査機や惑星基地における安全な食料生産の実現に向け、産学連携のもと、高度に自動化されたBLSS技術開発と宇宙作物研究を統合・発展させる中心的役割を担っています。
