Dr. Changhoo Chun is a professor in the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Bioresources and the Director of the University Farm at Seoul National University, Korea. He is currently serving as the President of the Korean Society for Horticultural Science. Dr. Chun received his Ph.D. in Environmental Control Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and his M.S. in Vegetable Science from Seoul National University, Korea. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the NASA Specialized Center for Research and Training at Purdue University, USA, for three years. He subsequently served as a faculty member at Chiba University for seven years before joining the College of Agriculture at Seoul National University, where he has served for 23 years. Prior to his appointment as President of the Korean Society for Horticultural Science (KSHS), Dr. Chun held several key leadership positions, including Vice President, Chair of International Affairs, and Council Member. His research focuses on plant responses to environmental conditions, including combinations that do not naturally occur on Earth, and on the development of science-based systems for controlled environment agriculture, including greenhouses and plant factories. Dr. Chun is also actively involved in policy planning for research and development in Korea’s smart agriculture sector.
