“Next-Generation Plant Factories Supported by High-throughput Phenotyping – Current Status and Future Prospects”
Dr. Seishi Ninomiya is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, where he studied plant breeding, plant physiology, applied statistics, and computer science. After serving as an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo, a laboratory head at the National Institute of Agro-Environmental Science, and a research director at the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization Japan, he returned to the University of Tokyo as a professor. He has long been a leader in interdisciplinary research between computer science and agricultural science, including plant phenomics. He has been involved in many major national research projects as well as many international collaborative research projects. In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded the Japan Agronomy Prize, the highest award for agricultural research in Japan. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of Plant Phenomics, a professor at Nanjing Agricultural University, President of CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering), and a member of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Technology Council under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.

基調講演「高速フェノタイピングが支援する次世代植物工場-現状と展望」
東京大学名誉教授,農学博士。東京大学で植物育種学、応用統計学、コンピュータサイエンス等を学ぶ。博士学位取得後、東京大学助手、農業環境技術研究所研究室長、農業・食品産業技術総合研究機構研究部長を経て、東京大学農学生命科学研究科教授。植物フェノミクスをはじめとするコンピュータサイエンスと農学との学際的研究を長年リード。多くの大型研究プロジェクトや国際共同研究プロジェクトに携わる。その功績が認められ、日本農学賞・読売農学賞を受賞。現在、Plant Phenomics誌編集長、南京農業大学客員教授、CIGR(国際農業工学会)会長、農林水産省農林水産技術会議委員なども務める。
